7Artisans 72mm True Colour CPL Filter
7Artisans 72mm True Colour CPL Filter | Take control of reflections
The defining design choice is the 72mm CPL format: it gives photographers a polarising filter for lenses with a matching filter thread, with the polarising effect intended to manage reflections. The 7Artisans 72mm True Colour CPL Filter is for anyone who wants more control over reflected light in a scene. Adjust the filter to make reflections on water or glass less prominent, so more of what lies beyond the surface can show through. A polariser can also deepen a blue sky when the sun and camera angle cooperate. That makes it useful for landscapes, travel scenes and architectural details where glare competes with the subject. The 72mm size is the key practical detail when choosing it; it needs to match the filter size of your lens. Its effect depends on the angle of the light, so it’s a considered adjustment rather than an automatic fix. If you want to control reflections while composing, this filter gives you that hands-on option.
Specialist Note
Setup is straightforward: fit it to a lens with a 72mm filter thread, then turn the CPL while watching the reflections change. That makes it easy to choose how much glare to keep on a shop window or a pond, instead of accepting the reflection as it falls. The 72mm size is useful only if it matches your lens, so it isn’t a universal fit. As a CPL, it suits photographers working with glass-fronted buildings, water or blue-sky landscapes who are happy to adjust the filter as they frame. One honest limitation: polarisation depends on your angle to the light, so the effect won’t be equally strong in every direction.
