7Artisans AF50mm f/1.8 - Fujifilm X-Mount - APS-C - Black | Portraits with pleasing subject separation

Portraits with a little space between you and your subject, plus street details picked out from a busy scene, are where this prime makes sense. The 7Artisans AF50mm f/1.8 is an autofocus standard prime for Fujifilm X-mount APS-C cameras, with a 50mm focal length and a bright f/1.8 maximum aperture. That combination gives you room to soften the background behind a portrait, while autofocus helps when your subject isn’t holding still. It suits photographers who want a dedicated portrait lens for street and travel, rather than a wide view of a whole room or landscape. On a trip, it can help bring a distant detail into the frame; on the street, it’s a natural fit for closer portraits and candid moments. It’s a focused tool, with a tighter way of seeing the scene than a wide-angle lens.

Specialist Note

Having to crowd someone to make a portrait feel personal can be awkward; this 50mm gives you room to work at a more comfortable distance. On a Fujifilm X APS-C body, its framing is like a 75mm lens on full frame, which suits head-and-shoulders portraits and travel details, though it can feel tight in small interiors. For a portrait, try f/1.8 and put the autofocus point on the nearer eye to soften the background. For a moving street subject, try around 1/250s and keep the focus point on their face. I’d choose it for people and details, not for wide street scenes.
