Its 16mm focal length gives a 107° angle of view on full-frame coverage, making it easier to hold a room, a street scene or a close foreground with plenty of space around it. The T2.5 maximum aperture gives you room to work when available light is limited, while the de-clicked aperture design suits adjustments made during a take. With a PL mount and manual focus, it’s made for a deliberate cinema workflow where the operator sets focus. It suits filmmakers building wide compositions on PL-mount setups, especially when a scene needs a strong sense of place. At this angle, camera position matters: nearby objects can feel much larger than the background, so small framing changes make a visible difference.

Specialist Note

The de-clicked aperture is a useful physical detail: you can adjust the T-stop without click steps, helping a brightness change stay smooth during a take. I’d point this lens towards filmmakers who want a wide view without giving up full-frame coverage.
