7Artisans Infinte 24mm T2.1 FullFrame DE-Clicked EF Mount
7Artisans Infinte 24mm T2.1 FullFrame DE-Clicked EF Mount | Wide framing for controlled video work
A room feels cramped in the frame, or a moving scene needs space around its subject: that’s where this 7Artisans wide-angle prime earns its place. It’s an interchangeable lens for video and filmmaking, with a 24mm focal length and an 84° angle of view. On a full-frame camera, that gives you room to show a person in their surroundings without stepping as far back as a narrower lens would require. The Canon EF mount makes it a lens for Canon EF systems, and the full-frame image circle suits full-frame sensors. It’s manually focused, so it’s best for filmmakers who want to set focus themselves rather than rely on autofocus. The DE-Clicked design is aimed at video work, where an aperture change during a take can be more useful than fixed click stops.
Specialist Note
Exposure shifts during a take can look abrupt if the aperture moves in steps; the DE-Clicked design lets you adjust it without those click stops. Its T2.1 maximum aperture gives you room to work in dim interiors, though the final exposure still depends on your lighting and camera settings. I’d look at it for a dialogue scene in a small room or a moving shot that needs to keep the setting in view. Set focus manually before the action, then rehearse any focus change with your subject. On a Canon APS-C (EF-S) body, its view is comparable to a 38.4mm lens on full frame, so it won’t feel as wide there. That’s a useful distinction when choosing your framing.
