ACT 80m DisplayPort Hybrid Fiber/Copper Cable DP Male

ACT 80m DisplayPort Hybrid Fiber/Copper Cable DP Male | Long-reach DisplayPort connection

What sets this cable apart is its 80-metre length and hybrid fiber/copper construction. The ACT 80m DisplayPort Hybrid Fiber/Copper Cable DP Male is for a DisplayPort connection where the equipment needs to be placed far apart. It’ll suit people planning a long cable run in a studio, workspace or other installation, provided the connection they need is DisplayPort. The DP male connector is another detail to account for when planning where the cable will connect. Its clearest strength is practical: it gives you a named cable type and a stated length to work with when the source and display can’t sit side by side. For a short connection, that much cable may be unnecessary. I’d choose it for the distance it’s intended to cover, rather than assume its construction means it adds features beyond a DisplayPort cable.

Before settling on a route, measure the path the cable will actually take, not just the gap between the two pieces of equipment. A route around furniture, along a wall or through a workspace can be considerably longer than a straight line on a floor plan. It’s also worth deciding where the cable will enter and leave the setup, so the connection points are accessible once everything is in place. I’d mark out the proposed route first and make sure there’s room for the cable to reach without pulling at either connection. That bit of planning can save an awkward rearrangement later. Keep the product name to hand when comparing options, too: it identifies the connection type and construction plainly, which helps narrow a cable search without guessing at details that aren’t part of the name.
