B&W Bw.case PP.166; Case Type 4000; Empty; Bronze Green
B&W Bw.case PP.166; Case Type 4000; Empty; Bronze Green | Hard-case protection for transport and storage
Loose gear in a soft bag can be vulnerable when transport gets rough or storage is dusty. The B&W PP.166 is an empty hard case for carrying and storing camera equipment when knocks, dust or rain are a concern. It suits photographers who want a protective case but prefer to choose the equipment that goes inside themselves. That makes it a practical option for moving selected gear between home and a work location, or keeping it together in storage rather than leaving it exposed. The hard-case format is the point here: it’s intended for situations where a soft-sided bag may not offer the kind of protection you want. The case is supplied empty, so plan around your own equipment rather than expecting a ready-packed kit. Bronze green gives it a distinctive finish without changing its straightforward role.
Where it fits into your setup
Use it as a dedicated home for the gear you want to move or store together. For transport, choose the equipment for that outing and pack it inside; for storage, keep the case closed when dust or occasional rain is part of the environment. It’s a protective case, not a substitute for deciding how your individual items should be packed. Keep that in mind when choosing what to put inside, especially if your equipment needs its own separation or cushioning.
Specialist Note
This is an empty case, so it won’t arrive as a complete camera kit; that’s also why it suits someone who wants to build a setup around their own gear. Its hard-case construction is the reason I’d consider it for transport when knocks are a concern, rather than relying on a soft bag. The bronze-green finish gives this PP.166 a clear identity, while the Case Type 4000 designation makes it easy to refer to the specific model. I’d use it to keep a chosen set of equipment together between home and work, or for closed storage in a dusty space. Just pack the contents thoughtfully: the case doesn’t decide how each item is arranged.
