Benro Aureole ND1000 10 Stop ND Filter (RC1ND1K)
Benro Aureole ND1000 10 Stop ND Filter (RC1ND1K) | Create long exposures in bright light
In bright daylight, a scene can be too bright for the slow shutter speed you want. The Benro Aureole ND1000 is a neutral-density filter rated at 10 stops, giving you a way to reduce the light reaching your camera for long-exposure photography. It suits photographers who want to show movement in a still image: think softened water or clouds with a sense of motion. The main benefit is that you can use a longer exposure without needing the scene itself to be darker. That makes this filter most useful when the light is strong and a normal exposure would leave little room to slow the shutter. It’s a specialised tool rather than an everyday filter; its purpose is to make much longer exposures possible in conditions where a short exposure would otherwise be needed.
Specialist Note
The dark, flat filter surface is a practical reminder of what this filter does: it cuts a lot of light, so you can stretch the exposure rather than simply lowering brightness in editing. The ND1000 designation and 10-stop rating describe that strong reduction. For example, if your unfiltered meter reading is 1/30 sec, adding ten stops brings the exposure to about 34 seconds, assuming you keep the aperture and ISO unchanged. That’s a useful starting point for softening moving water; use stable support and check the result, since small movement can blur the rest of the scene too. I’d suggest it to someone deliberately exploring long exposures, not to someone who needs to freeze action.
