Boya BY-WS1000 Wind Cover with Anti-Shock Microphone Mount | Helps tame wind and handling noise

Its defining design choice is to combine a wind cover with anti-shock microphone mounting. The BY-WS1000 is a Boya microphone accessory for people recording speech or other audio where wind and movement can get in the way. The wind cover is intended to help reduce wind noise reaching the microphone, while the anti-shock mounting addresses unwanted vibration or knocks transmitted through its support. That makes the combination relevant for location recording, including interviews and video work where clear speech matters. It’s a practical approach: two common sources of distracting noise are addressed in one product, rather than asking you to solve them separately. If you record in a sheltered indoor space and keep the microphone still, you may have less need for those protections. For outdoor or mobile recording, the BY-WS1000 is worth considering as part of a setup where controlling unwanted noise matters.

Specialist Note

For photographers who also record outdoor interviews, event sound or on-location narration, the BY-WS1000 brings two relevant protections together. The wind cover is there to help keep air noise from competing with speech; still, in strong gusts, good positioning remains important. Keep the microphone close to the speaker and choose a spot sheltered from direct wind where you can. Its anti-shock microphone mounting is aimed at reducing vibration and knocks reaching the mic through its support, so it’s useful when small bumps or movement are a concern. I’d think of it as support for careful recording, not a replacement for it. It suits location work best when you can manage both mic placement and handling.
