Canon E-52 II Lens Cap - 52mm
Canon E-52 II Lens Cap - 52mm | Cover a compatible lens between shots
Keep the front of a compatible Canon lens covered between frames, so it’s protected while you’re not using it. The Canon E-52 II Lens Cap is a 52mm lens cap for a selection of EF, EF-S, EF-M and RF lenses. It’s a straightforward accessory for keeping with a lens you use for portraits, close-ups or everyday scenes: fit it to a listed lens when you pause, then remove it to shoot. The compatible EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro and EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM make this a useful cap to have on hand for macro work, where the lens may spend time between close-up subjects. It also fits the RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro STM, so it covers a compatible RF lens as well as selected EF and EF-S models. The key detail is the 52mm size; compatibility is model-specific, so the lens list below is important.
Lens Cap Details
- 52mm size: This cap is specified for 52mm lenses. Match that size to a compatible lens to cover its front while it’s not in use.
- Lens protection: Its purpose is to protect the lens when you’re not shooting. Keep it on during a pause between portraits or scenes, then remove it to take the next frame.
- Selected Canon lens compatibility: The listed fit spans EF, EF-S, EF-M and RF lenses. That makes the model name and lens list more useful than assuming every Canon lens takes this cap.
- For close-up lenses too: Compatibility includes Canon macro models such as the EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro and RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro STM. The cap protects those lenses when they’re not being used for close-up work.
Specialist Note
The 52mm size is the detail to get right here: on a compatible lens, it gives you a simple way to cover the lens front between shots. I’d consider this cap for an EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM or the RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro STM, both of which are on Canon’s compatibility list. If you’re moving between subjects during a day of street or close-up photography, put the cap on during each pause and remove it when you’re ready to shoot again. The useful point is that Canon specifies particular lens models, not every lens in those systems, so this isn’t a universal Canon cap.
