Cokin Filter A123F Gradual Blue B2-FULL
Cokin Filter A123F Gradual Blue B2-FULL | Add blue to open skies
A gradual blue filter is the defining choice here: it lets you bring a blue treatment into part of a composition rather than applying one even colour across the whole frame. The Cokin A123F Gradual Blue B2-FULL is for photographers who want more blue in a sky while keeping the rest of the scene more natural. It’s especially suited to landscapes and views with a clear division between sky and foreground, where you can position the blue area over the sky. The name identifies this as the B2-FULL version of Cokin’s A123F gradual blue filter. That makes it a specific option for photographers who want this effect, rather than a general colour filter. Keep the horizon or other transition in mind as you compose: the result depends on where the gradual area falls in the frame.
Specialist Note
A pale sky above a dark ridge is exactly the sort of scene where the A123F earns its place: the blue treatment can bring more colour to the sky without putting the same blue over the whole composition. I’d consider it for landscape views with a clean horizon, or a city skyline against open sky. Compose so the transition sits around that boundary, then check that it doesn’t cut through an important subject. The B2-FULL designation is useful when you’re choosing this particular version by name; the filter’s gradual-blue character is the reason to reach for it. It won’t suit every frame—busy scenes with no clear division can make the transition harder to place.
