Desq Filter HMC Slim UV 52mm
Desq Filter HMC Slim UV 52mm | A slim UV filter for a 52mm thread
Without a filter, the lens’s front element is exposed directly to dust, fingerprints and the occasional splash. The Desq Filter HMC Slim UV 52mm is a UV filter that sits in front of a lens with a 52mm filter thread. It’s suited to photographers who want a filter in place during everyday use, or who specifically want a UV filter in their kit. Its slim design is a practical detail when space at the front of the lens matters, though it doesn’t tell you how the filter will behave with every lens. The HMC name is part of the product designation; I wouldn’t read more into it than that. This is a straightforward filter to consider when the 52mm size matches your lens and you want a removable surface in front of the glass. It’s the size and the intended UV-filter role that matter most when deciding if it’s right for you.
Specialist Note
At the counter, I’d start by matching the 52mm marking on this filter to the filter-thread size on your lens. That number is the key to fit: if the thread is a different size, this one won’t screw on correctly. The Slim designation is useful if you prefer a less bulky filter at the front of the lens; it’s a sensible detail to consider, especially if you’re trying to keep the setup compact. I’d suggest it for someone who wants a UV filter fitted for ordinary outdoor photography, or wants a removable surface in front of the lens while carrying the camera. One limit is clear: the 52mm size makes it specific to lenses with that thread.
