The DJI Osmo 360 II Battery Extension Rod takes total recording time at 8K/30fps up to 4.5 hours under the stated laboratory conditions: 25°C, with the screen and Wi-Fi switched off. That extra time is useful on a long walk or outing when you want to keep recording without relying on the camera’s own charge alone. The rod also gives you a higher, farther-reaching position for filming yourself, with the camera able to capture a 360° view or a single-lens selfie. Its telescoping length makes it possible to change the distance between you and the camera while keeping the setup handheld. This is a specific accessory for DJI’s Osmo 360 II, rather than a general-purpose extension rod. The magnetic connection and controls on the rod make it part of the camera setup, not simply a pole to hold. The trade-off is worth knowing: this accessory adds useful recording time and framing reach, but it isn’t waterproof.

Good to know

The rod isn’t waterproof, and DJI warns against using it underwater or around seawater and other corrosive liquids because of the battery fire or explosion risk. Keep the camera and rod’s charging contacts clean and dry when connecting them. The accessory weighs 289g, a consideration if you’ll be holding the extended setup for a long time.
