DJI SDR Transmission 2 | 4K wireless video for the whole crew

The DJI SDR Transmission 2 uses a compact 136 g transceiver that works as either a transmitter or receiver. That small, two-way design keeps the wireless video link light on a camera rig and means the same unit can serve at either end of the setup. It sends DCI 4K video at 60 fps in 10-bit HDR, with latency from 35 ms, for detailed monitoring on set. One transmitter can feed up to eight receivers at the same time, so a director, focus puller and other crew members can all follow the same shot. For a moving camera setup, the link can travel up to 4 km under ideal CE conditions; the stated range is a maximum, not a promise for every location. The system also supports quick changes between camera positions: add a camera feed by scanning and connecting, without a separate pairing process. That’s useful when a production moves between angles or shares monitoring across a larger crew. HDMI and DisplayPort video connections cover common camera and device workflows, while the DJI Ronin app adds tools such as waveform, histogram, LUT and false colour. The SDR Transmission 2 also fits into compatible DJI Ronin setups, where it can draw power from the stabiliser.

What it does

• One unit, TX or RX: Set the transceiver up as a video transmitter or receiver, depending on its role in your link. That flexibility is useful when building a kit around changing camera and monitor positions.
• Automatic channel management: Auto Channel 2.0 scans for available frequencies and can change channels when interference is detected. On busy sets, automatic channel handling helps keep nearby wireless groups from disrupting the video feed.
• Fast camera changes: A new camera feed can join by scanning and connecting, with no pairing sequence. That makes switching between camera positions less disruptive to a running production.
• Monitoring tools in the Ronin app: The app provides LUT, histogram, waveform and false-colour views. These tools give crew members more ways to assess the image on a remote screen.
• HDMI, DP and optional SDI: HDMI and DisplayPort connections carry video, with DP available through the lower USB-C port. SDI output is available with the separately sold Expansion Plate.
• Wireless bandwidth and responsiveness: The link supports a maximum bitrate of 50 Mbps, with minimum latency of 35 ms before camera and display delay. The actual end-to-end delay also depends on those connected devices.

Good to know

The SDR Transmission 2 is compatible with DJI RS 5, RS 4, RS 4 Pro and RS 3 Pro stabilisers, plus Ronin 2 and Master Wheels. Cable requirements vary: RS 4, RS 4 Pro and RS 3 Pro need a separately sold USB-C-to-CAN cable; Ronin 2 and Master Wheels need USB-C-to-4-pin. RS 5 connects by USB-C. A transceiver fitted to a stabiliser via its quick-release plate can’t sit in a native vertical position. This system can’t share a network with earlier DJI SDR Transmission or DJI Transmission products.
