Dörr Quick-Release Plate For Highlights XB-45/XB-56
Dörr Quick-Release Plate For Highlights XB-45/XB-56 | Keep your tripod setup ready
Having a tripod ready but no suitable quick-release plate can bring a setup to a halt. This Dörr plate is made for the Highlights XB-45 and XB-56, giving owners of those models the matching part for attaching a camera to the tripod and taking it off again when needed. It suits photographers who use one of these tripods and want a plate for regular camera mounting, or need a replacement for the one they already use. The appeal is practical: once the plate is in place, you can move between tripod-mounted framing and handheld shooting without treating the tripod as a permanent fixture. It’s a focused accessory rather than a general upgrade to your tripod. If you have a different model, don’t assume the fit is the same just because another plate looks similar.
A model-specific part
Quick-release plates are small, but their fit matters: the plate has to work with the tripod head it’s intended for. This one is identified for two Highlights models, so it’s a straightforward option for owners of either. Think of it as the connecting piece in your tripod setup, not an accessory that changes how the tripod behaves. For a still-life setup, for example, you can mount the camera for careful framing, then detach it when you want to work handheld. Keeping the plate with the camera also means it’s ready for the next time you use that tripod.
Specialist Note
“Will this fit my Highlights XB-45 or XB-56?” Yes, that’s exactly the pairing named for this Dörr quick-release plate. I’d point it out to someone who uses either tripod regularly and wants to move the camera on and off the support as their framing changes. For a tabletop still life, mount the camera to compose steadily, then release it for a closer handheld detail; for a landscape, use the tripod for the composition and take the camera off when you’re ready to move on. The honest limit is that its stated fit is specific, so I wouldn’t buy it as a universal spare plate for an unnamed tripod.
