Dulens ATP25B-PL APO Triassic Prime 25 T2.8 PL Mnt Color: Black
Dulens ATP25B-PL APO Triassic Prime 25 T2.8 PL Mnt Color: Black | Fixed framing for PL-mount cinema setups
When a scene calls for a particular view and you want to build the shot around a prime, this Dulens cinema lens gives you a clear starting point: a 25mm focal length and a T2.8 rating. It’s aimed at filmmakers working with PL-mount setups who prefer to plan framing around a fixed focal length rather than reach for a zoom. The APO Triassic Prime name identifies this model within the Dulens range, while its black finish keeps the look understated on a camera rig. Its strongest fit is a production that has a place for this specific focal length and wants a T2.8 lens in the kit. That makes it relevant for planned dialogue scenes, inserts or other shots where the camera position and composition can be chosen deliberately. The fixed focal length does mean you’ll adjust framing by moving the camera, not by zooming.
Specialist Note
The black finish gives this lens a quiet, unobtrusive look on a rig; I like that for a setup where you want the image and the scene to command attention. Its T2.8 rating gives you a defined aperture target when setting exposure, which is useful for building a repeatable lighting plan for a dialogue scene. The PL mount suits a cinema workflow based around that connection, so it’s a sensible lens to consider when you’re assembling a PL set. I’d choose it for shots planned around its fixed focal length, especially when the camera can be positioned to get the composition right. One practical limitation: you can’t zoom to reframe, so allow for camera moves or lens changes.
