DZOFILM Catta Coin Plug-In Filter - Black Mist Set (For Catta Zoom Only)
DZOFILM Catta Coin Plug-In Filter - Black Mist Set (For Catta Zoom Only) | A softer, more atmospheric Catta Zoom image
For a softer, more atmospheric image, the DZOFILM Catta Coin Plug-In Filter - Black Mist Set gives Catta Zoom users a creative filter option for shaping the look of a shot. It’s made for the Catta Zoom only, so its appeal is specific: it lets you bring a Black Mist look into footage captured with that lens. The effect is suited to portraits with bright practical lights in the frame, or scenes where you want highlights to feel less crisp and the image to have a more diffused character. It’s a considered choice for filmmakers who want that look in-camera rather than relying solely on a later grade. Black Mist is an intentional image treatment, though, not a neutral correction; the result depends on the scene and how much softness you want. If you’re working with a Catta Zoom and want to explore that distinctive, hazy rendering, this set is made for that purpose.
Specialist Note
The plug-in filter format is the defining physical detail here: this is a creative addition for the Catta Zoom, not a general-purpose filter for any lens. In use, the point is the Black Mist character it brings to the image. I’d consider it for a close portrait with a bright practical light behind the subject, or for a scene where a lit sign should feel softer rather than sharply defined; keep that source in the composition to make the effect part of the picture. It suits Catta Zoom users who want a deliberate atmospheric look. One honest note: that look won’t suit every scene, especially if you’re after a crisp, neutral rendering.
