DZOFILM Vespid PRIME2 18mm PL (Imperial)

DZOFilm Vespid Prime 2 18mm T1.9 PL Lens: A Filmmaker's Essential Tool

The DZOFilm Vespid Prime 2 18mm T1.9 PL lens has been meticulously crafted for filmmakers who wish to capture wide-angle shots without sacrificing image quality or production workflow. With its expansive field of view and consistent T1.9 aperture, this lens excels in environments where both the subject and surroundings are crucial. Its impressive light-gathering capabilities enhance your creative freedom, especially in low-light conditions.

Engineered with precision, this 18mm lens comprises 15 elements arranged in 12 groups, featuring aspherical elements designed to minimize distortion, chromatic aberration, and loss of contrast. This ensures that images remain sharp and vivid from corner to corner, offering a consistent color rendition that seamlessly matches with other focal lengths within the Vespid Prime 2 series. Consequently, switching between lenses will not reveal any noticeable differences in appearance.

Utilizing floating elements in its optical construction, the quality remains intact even at short focusing distances. With a close focusing capability of just 0.25 meters, this lens allows for engaging close-ups that emphasize the foreground beautifully. Coupled with minimal focus breathing, it maintains angle stability during focus pulls, making it ideal for dynamic shots and narrative cinematography.

On the mechanical side, the lens is expertly designed for professional cinema applications. It features a PL mount that supports Cooke i metadata, ensuring real-time transmission of lens information to compatible cameras and post-production software. The manual focus boasts a generous 300-degree rotation, providing precise control over focusing, while its compact and uniform design enables seamless integration into rigs, matte boxes, and gimbals.
