Edimax USB4/THUNDERBOLT3 Cable 40G 1METER Type C To Type C
Edimax USB4/THUNDERBOLT3 Cable 40G 1METER Type C To Type C | 40G connection over a short run
The defining choice is the one-metre length: it suits a direct connection between nearby USB-C ports without leaving a long stretch of cable to manage. This Edimax cable is specified for USB4 and Thunderbolt 3, with a 40G rating and Type-C connectors at both ends. That makes its purpose quite clear: it’s for connecting equipment that calls for one of those standards, using a cable with a short, defined reach. If you’re choosing between cable lengths, think about where the two ports sit and whether the cable needs to pass around or behind anything. A short connection can help keep a close setup tidy, but it won’t give you much room to reposition the devices. The name gives the key details plainly; this is a focused cable, rather than a long run for equipment placed far apart.
Choosing where to use it
Before settling on a cable, look at the ports you’ll connect and the route the cable needs to take. Type-C describes the connector shape; the USB4 and Thunderbolt 3 references identify the connection standards this cable is named for. Those details are useful when matching a cable to a specific setup, but they don’t tell you everything about the devices on either end. For that reason, treat the stated standard and 40G rating as the cable’s defining information, and make your choice with the intended connection in mind. Its short reach is best considered as part of the layout, not just a number on a product page: close-together ports are a natural use case, while a setup with more distance between them calls for a different cable length. If the connection point is tucked out of sight, consider the cable path as well as the straight-line distance. That small bit of planning can save you from ending up with a cable that can’t comfortably reach.
