Formatt Hitech 46-82mm Step Ring For Firecrest 100mm Holder
Formatt Hitech 46-82mm Step Ring For Firecrest 100mm Holder | Connect your lens and holder
Your filter-holder setup is easier to put together when the ring matches the lens-side size you need. The Formatt Hitech 46-82mm Step Ring is a connecting accessory for the Firecrest 100mm holder, not a filter that changes exposure or colour. It suits photographers who use a holder-based filter setup and need a ring within the stated 46–82mm range. Fit it as the link between the lens and holder, then use the holder with your chosen filter for the effect you want in the picture. That makes it a practical part of a landscape or other filter-based workflow, where the holder is central to your setup. The ring itself won’t alter the image; its value is in connecting the named holder to a lens setup covered by its stated sizing.
Specialist Note
46mm is the lower figure in the stated 46–82mm range; in practice, that gives you a clear size reference when choosing this ring for your lens-to-holder setup. The 100mm figure identifies the Firecrest holder it’s intended for, so this is a specific link for that holder rather than a general-purpose filter. I’d point it out to someone who wants to use the Firecrest 100mm holder with a lens connection covered by the ring’s sizing. For landscape work, fit the ring between the lens and holder, then use a holder-mounted filter to shape the result. One honest point: the ring has no image effect on its own, so the filter you pair with it does that work.
