Its 0.6 grade reduces light by two stops across the darker section, helping balance a bright area against the rest of your frame. It suits scenes with a fairly clear horizon, such as an open coastline, flat fields or a skyline against evening light. The rectangular 85 x 110 mm format lets you position the transition to suit your composition. There are two filters, handy when you want a spare or need two filters for a larger exposure adjustment. The hard transition works best with a defined boundary; around a jagged skyline, it can be more visible in the image.

With a clean horizon, this 0.6 hard-edge grad helps control a bright sky at the time of capture instead of relying on darkening it later. I’d place the transition just above a level sea or field horizon, then expose for the foreground; the two-stop reduction is a measured correction rather than a heavy darkening.
