Formatt Hitech Firecrest Colby Brown 100mm Kit +holder
Formatt Hitech Firecrest Colby Brown 100mm Kit +holder | A holder-based filter setup
Formatt Hitech Firecrest Colby Brown 100mm Kit +holder is a filter kit in the 100mm format, with a holder. It’s aimed at photographers who want to build their filter workflow around a holder rather than choose filters in isolation. The named format gives you a clear starting point when planning a setup, while the holder makes this a kit to consider when you’re ready to work with filters in a holder-based arrangement. It may suit landscape and architectural photographers who take time over framing and want their filter setup to be part of that process. Its appeal is specific: a Firecrest kit associated with Colby Brown, presented as a 100mm kit with holder. The supplier lists the colour as brown. Consider it when that format and holder arrangement match the way you intend to work; the product name alone doesn’t make it a universal fit for every filter setup.
Specialist Note
At a still lake just after sunrise, the sky and water meet in a carefully balanced frame; that’s a moment when a holder-based filter setup can earn its place. I’d look at this kit for landscape work or a considered architectural composition when you’ve chosen to work in the 100mm format. The holder gives you a clear starting point for arranging filters within your framing, so I’d settle the composition and then place the holder deliberately. One practical point: it’s a format-specific option, so it makes sense when that size already suits the filter setup you’re planning. I like the straightforward pairing of the named kit and holder.
