Freewell Osmo Action 6 Light Pollution Reduction Filter

Freewell Osmo Action 6 Light Pollution Reduction Filter | Reduce city glow in night scenes

City lights can make a night-sky shot feel less like a night sky: the glow from the surrounding area competes with the scene you want to capture. The Freewell Osmo Action 6 Light Pollution Reduction Filter is made to address that problem by reducing the effect of light pollution in your footage. It’s intended for Osmo Action 6 users who shoot after dark, especially around towns or other lit-up places. Think skies above a neighbourhood, or a skyline where you want the night atmosphere to come through more clearly. This is a focused tool for those conditions, rather than an all-purpose colour filter. It won’t remove bright lights from the scene or turn a heavily lit location into a dark-sky site, so it’s best to treat it as help with the light pollution, not a substitute for choosing your location and composition carefully.

Where it can help

Consider it when artificial light is part of the scene but its glow is getting in the way of the night view. A town skyline with open sky above it is one example; a night scene near street lighting is another. The filter’s purpose is specific: reduce the effect of light pollution, rather than add a general colour look. That makes it a considered option for Osmo Action 6 owners who regularly make night-time footage in built-up places. If the scene is already free from noticeable light pollution, that particular benefit may matter less.
