Godox S-Type Bracket Bowens

Godox S-Type Bracket Bowens: Mount a speedlight for Bowens modifiers

A clamping system, rather than a hook-and-loop strap, is the defining choice in the Godox S-Type Bracket Bowens. It holds a compatible speedlight without putting the bracket’s load on the flash’s hotshoe, and the clamp works with the flash positioned horizontally or vertically. That makes this a straightforward way to use a reportage flash in a Bowens-mount lighting setup. The bracket is for photographers building a compact studio arrangement around a speedlight, whether the job is a portrait session, a tabletop setup or an off-camera flash arrangement. Its Bowens S-type fitting connects the flash setup to a broad range of Bowens studio accessories, while the clamp accommodates almost all types and sizes of flash according to the supplied product information. An 80 × 80 cm softbox is included with the listed set, so you can begin with a large, diffused light source rather than sourcing one separately. The useful detail is the direct clamp: it keeps the flash secure without relying on its hotshoe for support.

What it does

• Clamps the flash: The bracket grips the speedlight with a clamp instead of a hook-and-loop fastening. That gives the flash a dedicated hold on the bracket rather than asking the hotshoe to carry the bracket’s load.
• Works in two positions: Set the flash horizontally or vertically in the bracket. This gives you a choice of orientation when arranging the flash head with your lighting setup.
• Accepts a broad range of flashes: The clamping system is described as suitable for almost all flash types and sizes. That broad fit makes the bracket relevant to a range of reportage flashes, rather than one specific flash model.
• Bowens S-type fitting: The bracket accepts Bowens S-type studio accessories. You can build around that fitting with compatible modifiers and other studio accessories.
• Turns a reportage flash into a studio setup: Pair the bracket with the included 80 × 80 cm softbox for a larger, diffused light source. It’s a useful starting point for portrait lighting or controlled tabletop work.
