GREEN.L MC-CPL 62mm
GREEN.L MC-CPL 62mm | Reduce reflections and manage glare
Reflections on water, glass or glossy leaves can distract from the subject you’re trying to photograph. The GREEN.L MC-CPL 62mm is a polarizing filter: rotate it while looking through your camera to see the effect change, then stop where the reflections are reduced to your liking. It can also deepen the appearance of a blue sky, which is handy when the sky is an important part of the frame. This filter suits photographers who want more control over reflected light in outdoor scenes, window views or close-ups of shiny surfaces. Its 62mm size is the key detail when matching it to a lens. A polarizer does reduce the light reaching the camera, so it’s less convenient when you need every bit of light, such as in a dim interior. For bright conditions and reflective subjects, though, being able to adjust glare as you compose can make a practical difference.
Specialist Note
For a lens with a 62mm filter thread, I’d use this when reflections are getting between me and the subject. The 62mm size gives you a clear matching point: look for that marking on the lens or its existing filter, rather than guessing from the lens’s front appearance. As a polarizing filter, it’s useful for a view across water or for foliage with distracting shine; turn it while watching the image and settle on the amount of reflection you want to keep. I’d recommend it to someone who often photographs outdoors or through glass. Just remember that polarization costs some light, so it pairs best with scenes where you have light to spare.
