H&Y EVO-Series Lens Adapter Step-up Ring 72-77mm
H&Y EVO-Series Lens Adapter Step-up Ring 72-77mm | Use a larger filter on a smaller thread
You have a lens with a 72mm filter thread, but the protection filter you want to use is 77mm. This H&Y EVO-Series step-up ring bridges those sizes, so you can fit the larger filter to the lens instead of looking for another filter in the smaller size. It’s a straightforward way to make a filter you already own useful on another lens, provided the thread sizes match. The ring is best for photographers who want to share filters across lenses with different front-thread sizes, particularly when their protection filter is the larger size. It doesn’t change what the filter does; it simply connects the lens and filter. That makes it a focused accessory: useful when you need this specific size conversion, and unnecessary if your lens and filter already have matching threads.
Specialist Note
The ring’s change from a 72mm lens thread to a 77mm filter thread is the whole point: it lets you keep using a larger protection filter on a lens with the smaller front thread. I’d suggest it to someone who already owns a 77mm filter and wants to use it on a 72mm-thread lens, rather than buying another filter just for that lens. Its step-up design moves from the smaller thread to the larger one, so the direction matters. It won’t help if your lens needs a 77mm filter and the filter you’re trying to fit is 72mm. For the right pairing, it’s a simple, specific fix.
