H&Y EVO-Series Lens Adapter Step-up Ring 82-112mm
H&Y EVO-Series Lens Adapter Step-up Ring 82-112mm | Use a larger filter
Use a larger filter on a lens with a smaller front thread: the H&Y EVO-Series Lens Adapter Step-up Ring 82-112mm bridges those two sizes. It’s for photographers who already have a larger filter in their kit and want to use it on a lens with an 82mm thread, rather than buying another filter in every size. The ring gives you a way to fit that larger filter at the front of the lens and keep working with the filter you’ve chosen for the scene. It suits a setup where the lens thread and filter size don’t match. Keep in mind that a step-up ring changes the fitting size; it doesn’t create a filter effect of its own. This is a focused adapter for making two filter sizes work together.
Where it fits in your kit
Think of the ring as a connection between a lens thread and a larger filter, not as a filter itself. It’s most useful when the larger filter is already part of your kit and you want to use it with another lens. Plan the pairing around the size marked on your lens and the diameter of the filter you want to attach.
Specialist Note
The practical win here is using a larger filter on a lens with a smaller front thread, instead of keeping another filter size just for that lens. The 82mm side is the lens-thread end of this pairing, so that’s the size to match to the lens. The 112mm end is for the larger filter; match it to the diameter marked on the filter. I’d consider this for someone who already owns that larger filter and wants to use it with a lens of this thread size. It’s a straightforward size conversion, but it won’t give you the effect of a filter by itself.
