H&Y MRC Protection Filter 105mm
H&Y MRC Protection Filter 105mm | Added protection for your lens front
Without a filter, the front of your lens is exposed directly to dust, fingerprints and the occasional brush against a surface. The H&Y MRC Protection Filter 105mm is a UV filter intended to sit in front of the lens, adding a protective layer while serving as a UV filter. It’s for photographers whose lens takes a 105mm filter and who’d rather have the filter face everyday contact than the lens’s front element. That can be reassuring when working outdoors, changing locations or packing your kit away between shoots. The practical point is simple: this is a large-diameter filter, so the 105mm size needs to match the lens’s filter thread. It’s a straightforward protective accessory, not a substitute for careful handling or a lens cap when the camera is put away.
Specialist Note
“Does this H&Y filter add protection at the front of my lens?” Yes—that’s what the Protection Filter name is for. The 105mm size matters first: choose it for a lens with a matching 105mm filter thread, and it won’t be the right fit for a different thread size. As a UV filter, it also has that filter role; I’d use it when you want a layer in front of the lens during everyday outdoor work, such as walking between locations or photographing in a dusty setting. The honest limitation is that the size is specific, so it isn’t a one-filter answer for lenses with different thread diameters. I’d still use a lens cap for storage.
