H&Y MRC Protection Filter 77mm
H&Y MRC Protection Filter 77mm | Everyday protection for your lens front
The 77mm filter size defines this H&Y protection filter: it’s made for a lens with a matching 77mm filter thread. As a UV filter, it adds a layer over the front of the lens, helping shield that exposed glass during everyday use. That’s its practical appeal: you can keep a protective surface in place while carrying or using a lens, rather than leaving the front element uncovered. It suits photographers who want that simple precaution on a lens with the right thread size, especially when the camera is out in busy or dusty surroundings. The product name also identifies it as an MRC filter, but the information available here doesn’t support a more specific claim about its coating or optical performance. Think of it primarily as a protection filter, not a way to change your exposure or create a particular look.
To choose the right size, look for the filter diameter marked on your lens and match it to 77mm. The number refers to the filter fit, not the camera body or the lens’s focal length. If your lens uses a different filter diameter, this one won’t be the correct fit. Once installed, it gives the front of the lens a protective barrier while you shoot; remove it when you need to clean the filter itself. It’s a straightforward accessory for keeping a lens front covered, with the useful detail that its intended size is clearly specified.
Specialist Note
At a crowded market stall, your lens is close to hands, bags and drifting dust. That’s where a protection filter earns a place: it puts a replaceable layer in front of the lens glass while you work. This one is a 77mm filter, so match that number to the filter thread on your lens; the size makes the difference between a proper fit and a filter that simply won’t mount. Its UV-filter designation is useful to know, though I’d choose it here for front-element protection rather than promise a particular change to your images. It suits photographers who keep a compatible lens in regular use. Just remember, it covers the front opening, not the rest of the lens.
