H&Y RevoRing Black Mist 1/4 Filter 58-77mm
H&Y RevoRing Black Mist 1/4 Filter 58-77mm | Softer highlights, one filter size range
Highlights take on a softer glow, giving portraits and bright scenes a gentler look. The H&Y RevoRing Black Mist 1/4 is a creative filter for photographers and filmmakers who want that softened rendering in camera, rather than adding it later in editing. Its 1/4 strength gives you a noticeable Black Mist character while keeping the effect more restrained than stronger versions. The RevoRing design covers lens filter sizes from 58 to 77mm, so it can serve across lenses with front threads in that range. That makes it a practical option if your kit includes lenses with different filter diameters. Use it for portraits with bright light in the frame, or for night scenes where lamps can benefit from a soft halo. The effect is part of the image, so it’s best suited to a look you want consistently, rather than a filter you’ll want to remove from every shot.
Specialist Note
58–77mm gives you a broad span of lens front sizes to work with, which is the practical appeal of this RevoRing version: one filter can cover lenses that fall within that range. The 1/4 rating points to a moderate Black Mist effect, so highlights can glow without the look becoming as pronounced as with a stronger grade. I’d suggest it for portraits with a bright window or backlight, and for night scenes with visible street lights. Keep those bright sources in the frame to make the diffusion visible. It suits anyone who wants a consistent softened look; if you prefer crisp, punchy highlights, this effect may not be for you.
