Hama Filter Profi Line Pol Circular Nano 55 mm
Hama Filter Profi Line Pol Circular Nano 55 mm | Tame reflections, deepen skies
The Hama Filter Profi Line Pol Circular Nano 55 mm is a circular polarising filter for photographers who want more control over reflections and the look of a blue sky. It’s especially useful when you’re photographing water, glass or foliage: rotating the filter lets you adjust how much reflected light is reduced, so you can keep more detail visible in the scene. A polariser can also deepen a blue sky, with the result depending on your shooting angle relative to the sun. This filter suits anyone whose lens has a 55 mm filter thread and who wants to make those adjustments while composing, rather than relying on editing afterwards. It’s a practical tool for landscapes, travel scenes and photographs through windows. The effect isn’t automatic or identical in every direction; take a moment to turn the filter and judge the change before you shoot.
Specialist Note
New polariser owners often expect the filter to remove every reflection as soon as it’s fitted. With this Hama, the useful part is being able to turn the circular polarising filter and watch the effect change as you compose. For water, rotate it until submerged detail becomes easier to see; for a blue sky, adjust it while looking through the viewfinder and stop when the colour feels natural. The 55 mm size means it’s intended for a lens with a matching 55 mm filter thread, so check the marking on the lens before choosing it. I’d also keep expectations realistic: the result depends on your angle to the sun, and it won’t affect every reflection equally.
