Hama Filter Ultimate UV 62 mm
Hama Filter Ultimate UV 62 mm | A UV filter for distant views
For scenes where distant hills or buildings look softened by ultraviolet haze, a UV filter offers a straightforward way to filter UV light. The Hama Filter Ultimate UV 62 mm is a UV filter sized for a 62 mm lens filter thread. It suits photographers whose lens has that matching thread size and who want a filter for landscape views, coastal scenes or other photographs with far-off detail. Its purpose is specific: UV filtration, rather than changing the colour or brightness of a scene. The difference is most relevant when UV haze is visible; in other conditions, you may see little change in the finished image. That makes this a considered accessory for a particular shooting situation, not a filter to buy for an effect you’ll notice in every frame. Match the 62 mm size to the lens thread, then use it when distant detail is the part of the picture you want to keep clear.
Specialist Note
A hazy veil over a distant ridge can take the definition out of the view you wanted to photograph. I’d consider this Hama UV filter for that specific problem, especially in a landscape with far-off features and visible UV haze. Its 62 mm size gives you a clear fit criterion: the lens needs a matching 62 mm filter thread. The UV-filter function is aimed at filtering ultraviolet light, so it makes most sense when that haze is affecting the scene, rather than as a way to alter every picture. I’d use it for distant coastal or hill views and judge the result in those conditions. It’s a focused tool; don’t expect a dramatic change when UV haze isn’t present.
