Hama Optical Audio Cable ODT-Connector (TosLink) 1.5 M

Hama Optical Audio Cable ODT-Connector (TosLink) 1.5 M | A simple optical audio connection

When your audio source and receiving equipment both have TosLink optical connections, this Hama cable provides a direct link between them. It’s an optical audio cable with an ODT connector (TosLink), made for connecting equipment that uses this type of audio socket. The 1.5-metre length gives you some room to position your devices without needing a long cable run. It’s black, so it sits quietly among other cables rather than drawing attention to itself. The key thing is the connection type: both ends of your setup need to use TosLink optical audio. If they do, this cable is a straightforward option for joining them. There’s no need to buy a longer lead than your layout calls for; 1.5 metres is the useful detail to consider when planning the route between your devices.

Getting the connection right

Think of this as a cable for a specific job, rather than a general audio lead. It carries the optical connection between a source with a TosLink output and receiving equipment with a matching TosLink input. That makes the connector type the first thing to look for on your equipment; the cable’s length and black finish matter once you know the sockets match. At 1.5 metres, it suits a nearby connection where the devices are on the same unit or within reach of one another. Measure the path the cable needs to take, including any space needed to route it around the setup. A short, direct run is often easier to keep tidy. If your equipment uses another kind of audio connection, this TosLink cable won’t be the matching lead.
