Hama Optical Audio Cable ODT-Plug (TosLink) Metal 3.0 M Display

Hama Optical Audio Cable ODT-Plug (TosLink) Metal 3.0 M Display | A 3-metre optical audio connection

Your audio setup gets a 3-metre optical connection, giving you room to route a cable between devices without placing them right beside each other. This Hama cable is an optical audio cable with an ODT plug, also known as TosLink, and suits a setup where the connected equipment has matching optical audio sockets. Its metal construction is noted in the product name. The useful detail here is the length: 3 metres can help when your components sit apart or the cable needs to follow a longer route around furniture. It’s a straightforward choice when you need an optical audio cable in this length, rather than a shorter link. The connector type is specific, so the key is having an ODT/TosLink connection at each end of your intended link.

Planning the connection

Before routing the cable, decide where the two devices will sit and measure the path between their optical audio connections. Allow a little extra length for the route around a stand or cabinet, rather than measuring only the straight-line distance. At 3.0 metres, this cable gives you a defined length to plan around. Keep the path manageable and avoid leaving excess cable where it could snag or be pulled. The product name identifies the connector as ODT/TosLink; use that as the connection detail when matching the cable to your setup. Simple, specific, and focused on optical audio—that’s what this cable is for.
