Hawke RD Endurance Red-Dot 1x25 3 MOA

Hawke RD Endurance Red-Dot 1x25 3 MOA | A simple aiming point

For lining up a target with a red dot rather than a magnified view, this sight puts an aiming point at the centre of your view. The Hawke RD Endurance Red-Dot 1x25 3 MOA is a 1x25 red-dot sight with a 3 MOA dot. Its 1x designation makes it a straightforward option when you want to aim without added magnification. That can suit someone who prefers to keep the view at its natural scale and use a dot as the reference point. The 3 MOA figure tells you the dot’s angular size, which is useful when comparing red-dot sights: a smaller figure means a finer aiming point. There’s no need to read more into the name than it says. If you’re choosing by magnification and dot size, those are the clear points to weigh up here.

MOA stands for minute of angle, an angular measurement used for reticle and dot size. A 3 MOA dot covers roughly 8.7 cm at 100 metres, so its apparent coverage changes with distance. That’s a way to understand the number, not a promise of a particular result in use. The 1x marking indicates one-times magnification; the product name also includes 25 as part of its 1x25 designation. Those markings give you a concise description of the sight’s stated format without suggesting extra features. In practical terms, the decision is about whether a red dot, at this stated size and magnification, matches the way you want to aim. I’d focus on those figures first rather than assume details from the Endurance name.

For a shopper comparing red-dot sights, the appeal here is the uncomplicated specification: red dot, 1x25 designation and a 3 MOA dot. Use those stated details to decide whether this is the sort of aiming view you’re after.
