HOLLYLAND Monitor Hood 7inch | Shade your monitor from distracting light

Bright room light falling across a monitor can make it harder to judge the picture while you’re working. The HOLLYLAND Monitor Hood 7inch is a hood for a 7-inch monitor, intended to shade its screen. It’s a straightforward studio accessory for camera operators and other crew who need to view a monitor during a recording or setup. The practical benefit is a screen with less surrounding light competing for your attention; you can concentrate on the image rather than trying to shield the display with your hand. Use it while checking framing or keeping an eye on a studio recording. Its stated size is the detail to focus on when choosing: it’s for a 7-inch monitor, rather than a screen of another size. This is a focused accessory, not a change to the monitor’s image or brightness.

Specialist Note

The HOLLYLAND Monitor Hood 7inch gives a 7-inch monitor a dedicated shade, instead of relying on your hand to block light while you work. The size is the useful point here: it’s intended for a 7-inch screen, so keep that measurement in mind when choosing where it belongs in your setup. As a studio accessory, it makes sense for checking framing during a recording or keeping the picture in view while you adjust a scene. I’d use it when room light is distracting the person monitoring the image. It won’t make the display brighter; it’s there to help screen viewing by shading it.
