Ilford Direct Positive Paper FB 1K 127cmx15m Ei 1 Rol

Ilford Direct Positive Paper FB 1K 127cmx15m Ei 1 Rol | A wide roll for direct-positive printing

What sets this apart is its direct-positive purpose, paired with a roll format for photographers who want to work beyond individual sheets. Ilford Direct Positive Paper FB 1K suits darkroom printers who already have a direct-positive process in mind and need photographic paper in a continuous length. It’s a specialist material rather than an all-purpose paper for everyday printing. At Renz, we’d recommend considering it for planned runs of direct-positive work, where a roll fits the way you make prints. The name gives you the essential starting point: this paper is intended for direct-positive printing. It doesn’t tell you how it will behave in your particular process, so the best fit is someone who knows the process they’re building around and wants to choose paper accordingly.

Working with a roll

This is supplied as one roll, measuring 127 cm by 15 m. That gives you a broad working width and a substantial length to plan around, rather than a fixed set of individual sheets. Think about the space and handling your workflow needs for a roll of this size, as well as the print dimensions you intend to make. A roll can suit work where you want to decide the length of each piece yourself; that flexibility is useful only if it matches your printing routine. The title also includes “FB 1K”. We’ve kept that designation as supplied rather than guessing at its meaning or promising a particular paper surface or performance. If direct-positive paper is already on your materials list, this roll gives you a clearly named option in a substantial size.
