Ilford Direct Positive Paper FB 1K 27.9x35.6cm 10 Vel

Ilford Direct Positive Paper FB 1K 27.9x35.6cm 10 Vel | Make direct positive prints

Its defining point is right in the name: this is direct positive paper, rather than a general photo paper described only by size. It suits photographers who are specifically looking for this kind of paper for their print work, and who want a large sheet measuring 27.9 x 35.6 cm. The pack contains 10 sheets, so you can plan a small run of prints without committing to a larger quantity. That makes the sheet count and format useful details to weigh up before choosing it. The honest distinction is that this is a specialist paper by type; it won’t be the right purchase if you’re simply looking for photo paper without a particular process in mind. If direct positive paper is what your work calls for, Ilford’s named format gives you a clear starting point.

Choosing it for your print work

With a specialist paper, the first question is less about broad promises and more about whether the paper type matches the print you intend to make. Here, “Direct Positive” is the key part of the product name. The size gives you a generous rectangular sheet to work with, while a ten-sheet pack keeps the quantity easy to judge when planning a project. These are concrete details to consider alongside the way you make prints and the finished format you have in mind.

The title also includes “FB 1K”. I’ve kept that designation as supplied rather than guessing what its abbreviations mean. If you already work with this named paper, the title makes it easier to identify the version you’re looking for. If you’re comparing options, focus on the exact paper designation and sheet dimensions; those are the clearest points of distinction given here. There’s no need to read more into the name than it says: this is Ilford direct positive paper, in the stated format, sold as a ten-sheet pack.
