Ilford Fine Art Smooth Pearl 36" - 91.4cm X 15m

Ilford Fine Art Smooth Pearl 36" - 91.4cm X 15m | A wide roll for fine-art photo prints

When a photograph is destined for a wall rather than a small frame, having paper in a wide roll can make planning the print more straightforward. Ilford Fine Art Smooth Pearl is photo paper supplied in a 36-inch (91.4cm) width and a 15-metre length. Its name points to the intended use: fine-art photo prints, with a Smooth Pearl finish. It suits photographers and print studios working with larger images, or anyone who wants a roll format rather than separate sheets. The generous width gives you space to plan a broad print, while the roll length can serve a run of prints. I’d choose it when the image and intended display call for a larger format; for occasional small prints, this is a substantial roll to store and handle. The product name gives the paper’s format and finish, so you can judge those against the print you have in mind.

Planning your print

Before starting a print job, think about the dimensions you want the finished image to have and how much paper that job will use. A roll gives you length to work with, but the 36-inch width is the key measurement when deciding whether a planned image fits your layout. If you’re preparing several prints, sketching out their sizes first can help you make sensible use of the roll. And if you’re choosing paper for a particular image, consider how the Smooth Pearl finish fits the look you want. That’s a practical decision rather than a technical promise: the title identifies the finish, but the right look depends on your photograph and how you plan to display it. This is a focused option for photographers who already know they want Ilford’s Fine Art Smooth Pearl paper in a wide roll.
