Ilford FineArt Smooth 200GSM 60" 152.4cmx15m 1ROLL

Ilford FineArt Smooth 200GSM 60" 152.4cm x 15m 1 Roll | Smooth wide-format paper for fine art prints

The defining details here are a smooth surface, 200 gsm paper and a wide roll format. This Ilford FineArt paper suits photographers and printmakers planning fine art output who want paper supplied by the roll rather than as individual sheets. Its 60-inch width gives you room to plan broad prints, while the 15-metre length gives you a continuous supply to work from. The title identifies it as smooth paper, so it’s aimed at print projects where that surface description matches the look you want. It’s a straightforward specification, without a long list of extra claims to interpret. For a considered print workflow, the useful question is whether this paper’s surface, weight and roll dimensions fit the work you have in mind. If they do, the format is easy to assess before you plan a job.

Working with a roll

A roll can suit printmakers who prefer to plan output by width and length, rather than start with a stack of separate sheets. You can work out how much material a project may use and plan successive prints from the same roll. That’s a practical format for a workflow built around larger or variable print sizes, though the dimensions alone don’t determine which print sizes or printer setups will suit your work. The paper’s smooth finish and stated weight are the other details to weigh against your intended result. If surface and format are already part of your brief, the product name gives you the essential points to compare. This is a specialist paper roll, so it makes most sense when you have a clear idea of the kind of fine art prints you want to produce and how a roll fits your process.
