Ilford GP Fine Art Textured Silk 61.0cm X 15m

Ilford GP Fine Art Textured Silk 61.0cm X 15m | A textured surface for fine art prints

When you’re planning a run of fine art prints and want a roll rather than sheets, this Ilford paper gives you a 61.0cm-wide format with 15m to work through. It’s aimed at photographers and printmakers who are choosing paper as part of the finished look, not just as a place for an image to land. The name tells you what to expect: a fine art paper with a textured silk finish. That makes it most relevant when this particular surface is the reason you’re considering it. The roll format also gives you room to plan several prints from one length, though the useful number will depend on the sizes of your finished prints. There’s no need to overcomplicate the decision: consider the image, the intended print size and whether textured silk is the finish you want.

For a print project, start by deciding which images belong together and how large you want each one to be. Then you can judge whether a 61.0cm-wide roll suits the dimensions you have in mind. The 15m length gives you a continuous format to plan around; it’s a practical detail to consider when estimating how much paper a set of prints may call for. Surface choice is personal, so I’d look at the picture itself before settling on a finish. Fine detail, broad areas of tone and the overall feel you want from the finished work can all inform that choice, without assuming that one paper surface will suit every image. This is a focused option for anyone who has already settled on Ilford GP Fine Art Textured Silk and wants it in a wide roll.
