Ilford Ilfotec DD Dev Starter LQD 1LT

Ilford Ilfotec DD Dev Starter LQD 1LT | A one-litre liquid darkroom developer starter

When you’re sorting out darkroom chemistry, a clearly named bottle makes it easier to identify the product you mean. Ilford Ilfotec DD Dev Starter LQD 1LT is a liquid developer starter for the Ilfotec DD line, supplied in a one-litre size. It’s suited to photographers who work in a darkroom and need this specific starter as part of their process. The useful point here is the precise product designation: Ilford, Ilfotec DD, developer starter, liquid, one litre. Those details help distinguish it from other darkroom items when you’re planning supplies or matching a product name to your notes. It’s a specialist piece of chemistry rather than a general-purpose darkroom accessory, so the name is worth reading in full.

Reading the product name

With darkroom supplies, small differences in product names can matter. This one is identified as a starter, not simply as a developer, and the Ilfotec DD designation is part of its name. If you keep a written record of the products used in your darkroom, that full name gives you a clear reference to use again. The liquid designation and one-litre size also make the format and pack size plain at a glance. That’s about as much as the product title tells you, and it’s sensible to use the full designation when selecting or recording it rather than relying on a shortened label. For a specialist item, clear identification is practical: it helps keep the product you intend to use distinct in your own supplies and notes.
