Indipro Tri-Tap w/ Sony NP-FW50 Type Dummy Battery (30")

Indipro Tri-Tap w/ Sony NP-FW50 Type Dummy Battery (30") | A 30-inch route to external power

Without a dummy-battery adapter, a setup built around an NP-FW50-type battery depends on a battery seated in the device. This Indipro adapter gives you another way to arrange that power connection: it uses a Sony NP-FW50-type dummy battery and a Tri-Tap connection. It suits people putting together a rig that uses those connections and who want the battery-shaped end in the device rather than a regular NP-FW50 battery. The cable is 30 inches long, so you can position the connected power source away from the battery compartment, within that reach. Its appeal is practical rather than complicated: it links a named battery format to a named power connection. If your setup already uses Tri-Tap and NP-FW50-type equipment, this is the specific adapter to consider. The product name also gives you the cable length up front, which makes planning its placement easier.

Planning the connection

Think about where the device and its power source will sit before routing the cable. A 30-inch lead gives you some separation, but it also sets a clear limit on how far apart those parts can be. Keep the route free of tension and avoid trapping the cable where it could be pulled as you move the setup. The dummy battery is the part intended to take the place of a battery in the device; the Tri-Tap connection is the other end of the adapter. This makes the product most relevant when both ends match the arrangement you’re building. It’s a focused accessory, not a general-purpose cable, so its value comes from having the named battery format and connection in one adapter.
