JJC 62mm Natural Night Filter
JJC 62mm Natural Night Filter | For more natural-looking night skies
For night-sky photographs made near towns, this filter is intended to help you pursue a more natural-looking scene rather than let artificial light dictate the colour. The JJC 62mm Natural Night Filter is a color filter with a 62mm size, aimed at photographers who include stars, a glowing horizon or night-time architecture in the same frame. Its appeal is straightforward: it gives you a dedicated filter to try when urban night lighting is affecting the look you're after, without changing the subject or asking you to build a complicated setup. Use it for a city-edge sky or a night landscape with streetlights in view, and judge the result against a frame made without it; night lighting varies, so the effect you want depends on the scene and your exposure. The key buying detail is the 62mm size: match it to a lens with a 62mm filter thread.
Specialist Note
The 62mm sizing is the practical physical detail here: it needs to meet a lens with a matching 62mm filter thread, so I’d make that the first check before planning a night setup. As a Natural Night color filter, it’s aimed at photographers who want to work on the colour of scenes under night lighting, rather than add an effect for its own sake. I’d use it for a starry view with town glow on the horizon, or a night street scene, then compare the frame with and without the filter under the same exposure. That keeps your judgement grounded in your actual lighting. The 62mm sizing does make it specific to lenses with a matching thread.
