JJC F-BD67-2 67mm Black Diffusion Filter
JJC F-BD67-2 67mm Black Diffusion Filter | A softer look for highlights
The JJC F-BD67-2 is a 67mm black diffusion filter for photographers and filmmakers who want a gentler, less crisp rendering. It’s intended for people who like softened highlights and a subtle diffused look, especially in portraits or scenes with bright light sources. The black diffusion design can take the edge off sharp highlights while keeping the image’s overall character intact; the result depends on the scene and lighting. Use it when you want that softer treatment in-camera rather than adding the effect afterwards. The 67mm size is the key detail when choosing it: it suits a lens that takes 67mm filters. This filter is for changing the look of the image, not for reducing light like a neutral-density filter. If you want to manage exposure or use slower shutter speeds, you’ll need a different kind of filter.
Specialist Note
Choosing this filter is straightforward once you know your lens takes 67mm filters; that matching size keeps selection simple. The black diffusion type is the reason to reach for it: it gives portraits a softer treatment and can gently spread bright points of light in a night scene. I’d use it when you want those effects in the original image, rather than relying on editing later. It suits photographers and filmmakers who enjoy a less clinical look, but it isn’t an exposure tool. If your aim is a slower shutter speed in daylight, this diffusion filter won’t do that job; choose an ND filter for that.
