JJC ND1000 Filter 67mm
JJC ND1000 Filter 67mm | Create long exposures in bright light
Without a neutral-density filter, bright daylight can make a long exposure difficult: the shutter may need to stay open longer than the available light allows. The JJC ND1000 reduces the light reaching the camera, giving you room to use slower shutter speeds and show movement in a scene. It suits landscape photographers who want to soften flowing water, and anyone looking to record cloud movement over a fixed viewpoint. Its 67mm size is for lenses with a matching 67mm filter thread, so it’s worth checking the thread size printed on the lens before choosing a filter. The ND1000 is at its most useful when you want a pronounced long-exposure effect in daylight. For ordinary snapshots or fast-moving subjects, that strong reduction in light is less helpful.
Specialist Note
At a daylight waterfall, I’d use the ND1000’s roughly ten-stop reduction to turn a quick exposure into a long one: a metered 1/30 sec becomes about 33 seconds with the filter fitted. That’s enough time to render moving water as a softer blur while the surrounding rocks stay defined, provided the camera is firmly supported. The 67mm diameter matters at the counter because it needs a lens with a matching filter thread; it won’t fit every lens in a camera bag. I’d recommend it to landscape photographers who want that deliberate, smoothed-water look. Its strong light reduction is a limitation for handheld work, so plan on a stable support.
