JJC Quick Release Plate CP 6

JJC Quick Release Plate CP 6 | A simpler link between camera and tripod

Having to deal with the camera-to-tripod connection every time you set up can interrupt the moment. The JJC Quick Release Plate CP 6 is a tripod accessory for photographers who want a quick-release plate as part of their support setup. Its role is straightforward: it provides the plate in a quick-release arrangement, rather than being a tripod or a tripod head in itself. That makes it relevant when you need a plate for an existing setup, or want a replacement for a plate that’s gone missing. The key practical point is fit: a plate needs to work with the head it’s being used on, so this is a sensible purchase when you already know the matching setup. It’s best suited to someone solving that specific plate-related problem, not someone looking for a complete camera support system. With no other role to complicate matters, the CP 6 is a focused accessory for keeping a tripod setup ready to use.

Where it fits into your setup

A quick-release plate is the small connection point in a larger support arrangement. For a landscape composition, for example, the aim is to get the camera onto the tripod head without making the plate itself the focus of the setup. It can also help when you’re moving a camera between handheld use and a tripod. The result depends on having a compatible head; the plate alone doesn’t provide camera support.
