Joby Gorillapod Go Blue
Joby Gorillapod Go Blue | Steady support for considered shots
The defining choice here is a tripod: it gives your camera a fixed support, which helps keep framing steady when you want a longer exposure or smooth, stationary video. The Joby Gorillapod Go Blue suits photographers who want support for landscapes, night scenes and astro photography, as well as people filming a steady shot. It’s also a straightforward option when you’d rather concentrate on composition than on keeping the camera still by hand. For a night scene, a tripod can help you use a slower shutter speed to gather light while keeping stationary parts of the frame sharp. In landscape work, it can help you hold a consistent composition as you refine the frame. The blue finish gives this version its distinctive look. Its best use is as a steady base for deliberate images and video, rather than as a way to freeze movement within the scene.
Specialist Note
Set the tripod in place, settle on your framing, and you can give the camera your attention instead of trying to keep it steady by hand. That’s the practical appeal of this Joby: it’s a tripod intended for landscapes, long exposures, night and astro work, and steady video. For a stationary night scene, try a 1-second exposure as a starting point, then adjust to suit the light and subject. The blue finish is a bit of colour rather than a shooting feature. I’d be clear about one limitation: a tripod can steady the camera, but it won’t stop moving branches or people from blurring during a long exposure.
