Kaiser RB 555 AS LED Lighting Unit
Kaiser RB 555 AS LED Lighting Unit | A studio light for considered setups
Choosing LED as the light source makes the Kaiser RB 555 AS a studio lighting unit for adding illumination where you’re arranging a subject. It’s suited to photographers who want a dedicated light in a studio setup, whether they’re working on a small product scene or arranging a portrait. Its role is clear: provide light for a subject while you decide how the scene is arranged around it. For product photography, a useful starting point is to place the light to one side and watch how the shadows fall before changing the position of the subject. With a portrait, first decide where you want the light to come from, then arrange the subject in relation to it. The result depends on that placement and on the other surfaces in the scene, so think of the unit as one part of your setup rather than a complete lighting plan.
Specialist Note
Photographers who shoot tabletop products or posed portraits will find a clear role for the Kaiser RB 555 AS in a studio setup. The LED designation tells you it’s a light source, so start by choosing which side of the subject you want to illuminate, then arrange the scene around that direction. For a small product, try placing the unit to one side and a white card opposite it to bounce some light back into the shadow. For a portrait, set the subject’s position relative to the light before fine-tuning their pose. Its studio-accessory role makes most sense in a setup where you can arrange the subject and background. I’d treat it as a focused lighting tool; positioning still does a lot of the work.
