Kaiser RSD Copy Stand
Kaiser RSD Copy Stand | A dedicated setup for copy work
Kaiser RSD Copy Stand is a copy stand for photographing flat subjects, giving document and artwork work a clear, purpose-built product category from the outset. It suits photographers, archivists, artists and small businesses who need camera images of pages, prints, drawings or other flat originals. A copy stand is most useful when the subject stays arranged on a surface while you make a direct reproduction; that makes it a sensible option for digitising records, preparing artwork images or creating reference copies. The RSD is the model name, and the product’s role is specific: copy photography rather than general camera support. If you regularly work with flat material and want to make images of it, this is the kind of tool to consider. Its appeal is focused on reproduction work, not on serving as an all-purpose studio stand.
Specialist Note
A page of old notes lies open on a desk, ready to be recorded for an archive; this is the kind of job a copy stand is designed to support. I’d consider the Kaiser RSD if your regular subjects are documents, prints or flat artwork, rather than if you need general camera support. The product name is helpful here: “copy stand” tells you its role, while “RSD” identifies this particular model. Arrange the original neatly and keep your framing consistent as you work through a batch of records or a series of drawings. Its purpose is specialised, so it makes most sense when reproducing flat material is a regular part of your photography.
