Kaiser Vivicap White Balance Filter 55mm
Kaiser Vivicap White Balance Filter 55mm | Set a consistent white-balance reference
Without a dedicated white-balance aid, it’s easy to leave the camera on Auto and find that a room’s warm lamps or a cloudy day have shifted the colours in your pictures. The Kaiser Vivicap is a white balance filter for photographers who want to set a more deliberate reference in camera instead. Its 55mm size makes it relevant when you’re choosing a filter for a setup that takes this size; the key job is helping with white balance, not adding a creative colour effect. It’s worth considering for portraits, product photographs or other scenes where keeping colours looking natural matters from one frame to the next. Use it as part of your camera’s white-balance procedure, following the steps for your camera. It gives you a more considered starting point than simply trusting Auto, though the final result still depends on the light in the scene and your camera’s settings.
Specialist Note
For a 55mm setup, I’d keep the Vivicap in mind when I’m photographing a subject under steady indoor light and want to set a custom white balance before starting. Its 55mm size is the detail to match to your filter setup; its purpose as a white balance filter tells you what it’s for: establishing a reference for colour, rather than adding a coloured look. That makes it worth considering for portraits or product work where a consistent colour impression matters across a series. Follow your camera’s custom white-balance steps to use it. One limit to bear in mind: a reference can’t make two differently coloured light sources agree with each other.
